JOIN US ON SEPTEMBER 17TH FROM 3PM-5PM TO CELEBRATE THE LAUNCH OF OUR LATEST EXHIBITION IN COLLABORATION WITH LOCAL ARTIST ERIN REINBOTH.

‘Heartbeats’ explores the fluidity and rhythm of the beating heart. Reimagined through abstract brushstrokes and vibrant colour exploration, this body of work playfully studies the complexity and intricacies of arrhythmia across the canvas.

Works are available to shop online now, please get in touch with us to make an appointment to view the works in person.

Artist’s Statement:

“This series of work was dreamt up whilst cuddling my newborn son in ICU. Those long days spent closely watching his heart rate on the monitor. The rhythm of the heartbeats. The patterns recorded on the screen. The highs and the lows. The calming sounds, the manic sounds. The chaotic and out of control. The steady and consistent. At this time I found myself craving painting as our escape and a safe place to work through a troubling time.

Without my paints or brushes, I began painting these works with the only tools I had handy…on my iPhone…in ‘notes’. One handed, cuddling my baby boy tangled up in all his cords and tubes, I began. Each day I would dream up a new colour combination & compositions whilst processing the day that was. Each day we’d escaped to a happy place of colour and calm.

When we returned to the safety of home, to our new family life, I ventured into the studio and began to paint these images into their true forms on canvas. A truely cathartic process which have come together as this body of works ‘Heartbeats’.”

About the Artist:

Erin Reinboth is an Australian contemporary artist currently residing on Victoria's Surf Coast.

With a fascination for texture, mark-making and above all, colour, her vibrant works celebrate her surroundings and experiences, through expressive layers, experimental line-work and vivid colour exploration.

Seeing her art practice as a form of therapy, lively and playful yet intimate and emotive, she encourages viewers to journey across the canvas as she has done, rousing their own self-reflection, discovery and contemplation.

All artwork creation is supervised by Jan Juc's infamous art critic trio Ozzy the Prince of Darkness, Rex & Digger Slaven; Erin and Curtis's beloved pet pug and their adored bashful boys.

Erin has completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Painting major) at the University of South Australia and a Bachelor of Textile Design (Print major) at RMIT University, Melbourne. Actively exhibiting over the past 17 years, her works have been showcased in solo and group exhibitions nationally.

Juggling a harmony between the creative & commercial world, Erin works as a Studio Manager & Textile Designer within Melbourne's fashion industry, whilst nurturing her own creative practice within her home studio in Torquay.
